I was talking with my counselor the other day reflecting on life & I told her:: I finally started to believe that another person could just be “for you”.
She stopped me & said, I feel like you keep saying those two words “for you” & it reminds me of a Scripture, “if God is for us, who can be against us?”
in that moment i got a glimpse of what “for us” meant. that it didn’t have something attached to it.
that in a human sense you could want what’s best for another person, be there biggest cheer leader, & have a heart that is for them no matter what and that human sense of someone else being for me, gave me a glimpse into God’s heart. that He is for us. & it doesn’t come with strings attached.
His heart is for us & his love is U N C O N D I T I O N A L. it’s not for us so that we can “clean up our lives”, it’s not for us so that we can “do good things for him”. He is just for us. when you trust someone you know their heart. you know that they’re not going to intentionally bring hurt. if we trust God we can know that His aim is not to hurt. He is for us.
“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”
